People Lead (m/w/d)

As a People Lead (m/f/d) at FORMEL SKIN, you'll play a central role in shaping the employee experience as we scale. Your focus will be on building and continuously improving the people processes, programs, and culture that allow our team to do their best work.
What you’ll be doing
Own People Ops processes end-to-end, ensuring a smooth, legally compliant and employee-centred lifecycle
Continuously improve our HR systems, documentation, and workflows: spot inefficiencies, propose solutions, and actually implement them
Drive the evolution of our performance, feedback and development processes so they're meaningful and not just a checkbox exercise
Experience with HR system migrations or transformations is a strong plus
Ensure a high-quality employee experience at every touchpoint: consistent, values-aligned, and human
Act as a trusted partner and sounding board for managers on employment law, people development and day-to-day HR topics across both our Berlin and London teams
Collaborate with leadership to achieve healthy levels of engagement , retention and D&I metrics
Use people analytics and insights to inform decisions and shape strategies that drive real results
Support change management and organisational development initiatives as we scale
Lead, mentor and develop a small People team: creating clarity, room to grow and a high-performance culture
What you need to shine
Substantial experience in a People/HR generalist role, with some experience leading or mentoring others
Solid knowledge of German employment law and HR processes, ideally from a fast-growing start-up or scale-up environment
A track record of building or improving people programs: not just inheriting and maintaining them
Confident with HR systems, collaboration tools, and ideally learning, feedback, and performance platforms
High emotional intelligence, discretion, and trustworthiness: People feel safe coming to you
Strong communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to adapt your style to any audience
Comfortable with ambiguity and genuinely energised by the pace of a scale-up
Fluent in German (C1) and English (C1 minimum), you'll use both daily
